Transitioning to Family Care

What makes a difference for programs transitioning to family care?

Research and global guidance suggest children need families, yet millions of children live in group care settings.

Frequently, residential care providers are well-positioned to transition their services to family care. However, this transition can be mysterious and intimidating for many.

The goal of the present study is to explore antecedents to transition, factors that help or hinder the process, and program outcomes, as well as provide data-informed guidance to programs in transition and those who serve them.

This study is currently ongoing. If you represent a program that has transitioned from residential to family care, please complete the survey below.
